Little Singers

  •  Does your child love to sing?  This class is designed to give your budding singer an introduction to the voice.  This class nurtures the young voice with age appropriate songs and healthy singing techniques.  This is a fun class for any young performer.  Final presentation at the last class.  
 
  
  
  
  
  
Beginning Keyboard
Instructor: Hannah Yu
Ages: 6 - 9 years

  • This class is specifically designed for young beginner students to get hands-on experience with the piano while learning the fundamentals of music and the keyboard.  A relaxed and supportive group environment allows students to make music with their classmates and share common goals.  Class space is limited to all for individual attention.  This lively and engaging class is the perfect way to introduce your child to a new instrument or prepare them for taking private lessons in the future. 
     

 

 

 

Student Workshop: Accents for the Actor & Singer
Instructor: Megan Malloy

  • Many plays and musicals require an accent or dialect to make a character believable to an audience.  Ever wondered how to do this?  If so, you're not alone!  In this 2 hour dialect workshop, you will properly warm up your voice, learn techniques to sound authentically British (Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, My Fair Lady, Pirates of Penzance and Oliver!) and also cover the American Southern dialect (WaitressOklahoma!, Floyd Collins, and Steel Magnolias).  Have fun, learn some new tools for the stage and stretch your artistic leg!

 

 

 

My 1st Music Class

  •  My 1st Music Class gives babies and caregivers the chance to socialize with others in this fun-filled first music class.  In class, babies will explore new sounds and sensations while singing, bouncing, rocking, wiggling and playing peek-a-boo games.  It's never too early to help your baby become a lifetime music maker.

Musical Stories

  • What happens when books and music come together?  Characters come to life through rhythm and rhyme.  Each week students will bring a beloved story to life through music.  Students will explore the themes of the book while singing, dancing, playing simple instruments, exploring rhythm and playing musical games.  Don't miss out on this fun and interactive class!  Creative expression and silly thoughts are highly encouraged.

 

 

 

 

Itsy Bitsy Melodies

  • These weekly classes are action-filled for toddlers and their caregivers.  Together you'll sing, chant, move, dance, listen, and play-simple instruments, all activities bridge the natural connection between music and movement.  Each lesson features movement activities for coordination, body awareness and control and exploration of space.  Toddlers experience first-hand the foundations of music through singing, rhythm games and listening activities.  Don't miss out on tis fun-filled class for both kids and caregiver.

  • In this fun, hands-on class, student will hae the opportunity to explore some of the most popular musical instruments - the piano, recorder, violin, voice, guitar, percussion, brass and more!  Basic music theory concepts will be taught.  Try them all and see what music making is all about.  All instrument and materials are provided.  Other teaching resources may be used.

    Music and Relaxation

    Ages: 16 years - Adult
    Fee:  $125.00
    Time: 7:00pm– 8:00pm
    Day: 8 Mondays:  1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26 & 3/5 

    •  Music is a gateway for relaxation responses in the body and mind.  Take a break from daily life to explore various relaxation techniques through music assisted relaxation.  In this class you will explore guided imagery, deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and Mandala creation as ways to engage in mindfulness and relieve the stress of the day.  This is the perfect class for a parent or caregiver to take while their student is in another class or private lesson.

    Youth Jazz & Pops Ensemble I

    Day:  11 THU: 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8,  2/15, 2/22, 3/1, 3/8 & 3/15 (final class and presentation)

    • The Youth Jazz & Pops Ensemble I explores a full range of jazz music and their characteristic sounds.  This ensemble is great for students who are new to jazz or who are just becoming familiar with it. All instruments are welcome to join.  Students should have private lessons and are able to sight to read. Accepting a chair in this Ensemble assumes a commitment from the student to attend regularly and be prepared for rehearsals. New students will need to schedule an audition with Bill Gottshall.  Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be a part of this unique program.  Space is limited.

    • The Jazz & Pops Ensemble gives intermediate & advance students the opportunity to explore a variety of repertoire from theatre, film, contemporary, rock and jazz. Music is custom arranged to fit the ensemble’s instrumentation and skill level.  All instruments are welcome to join.  Students should have private lessons and are able to sight to read. Accepting a chair in this Ensemble assumes a commitment from the student to attend regularly and be prepared for rehearsals.     • The Pegasus String Ensemble is open to students who play viola, violin and cello.  Students will explore a range of music while learning to play in an ensemble.  Students should have 3 years of expereince of private lessons and are able to sight read.  Accepting a chair in this Ensemble assumes a commitment from the student to attend regularly and be prepared for rehearsals.  A final presentation will be performed for family and friends during the last class session.
