The Conservatory hires qualified, experienced, part-time private music lesson teachers who are comfortable teaching in-person and in a virtual, video setting. The Conservatory provides a beautiful learning environment that is home to 25 studios with pianos and a 100 seat performance hall. We value excellence in music education for every age and skill level. We look for excellent qualifications in our faculty:

  • Possesses all clearances (FBI, State Police and Child Abuse) 

 

All Faculty members are part-time independent contractors. Lessons are taught mostly in the after-school hours. Pay rates are based on experience and education.

Communications & Marketing Associate

Start Date: March 1st  

Hours: Part-time, 12 hrs/wk  

(mutually agreed upon times of service, Monday – Friday, remote and in-person)  

Fee:  $15.00/hr 

Reports to:  Executive Director 

 

 

Role: 

The Communications and Marketing Associate will assist and manage all efforts that support The Conservatory’s mission through expanding organizational reach, visibility, sales efforts, and fundraising.  The Associate will be a flexible and creative team player who believes in our nonprofit mission and values.   

 

Responsibilities:  

  1. Social Media & Website 

  • Plan, create, manage, and optimize regular social media posts. 

  • Take ownership to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. 

  • Management and updating of the website. 

  • Help to evaluate success of social media and website efforts. 

 

  1. Communications & Marketing 

  • Help to coordinate and plan for the number of internal and external messages needed for the promotion of programs, fundraising, awareness, events, and general information. 

  • Create and manage monthly Conservatory Newsletter. 

  • Assist with creation of all print and electronic materials, such as brochures, posters, flyers, etc., as needed.  

  • Assist Program Director with internal information slides for our lobby monitors. 

  • Help to design and launch email marketing campaigns to build upon current customers, new customers, and potential donors.  

  • Work with the Executive Director to create a clear marketing and communication strategy.   

  • Other Administrative tasks as needed. 

 

 

  1. PR 

  • Write Patch articles and other PR material as needed. 

  • Help establish a list of media outlets print or virtual for PR releases and other articles. 

  • Manage all videos and photos on Google Drive.  

 

  1. Development 

  • Assist with Annual Report as needed. 

  • Assist Development Consultant with the marketing and communication of fundraising events. 

  • Assist with other fundraising efforts as needed.  

 

 

  1. Other 

  • Become fluent in describing The Conservatory’s programming and services for the public 

  • Works with all staff, faculty, students, and families as needed.  

  • Works with Board of Directors as needed 

  • Attends staff meetings when possible. 

 

Required Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Motivated, self-driven, and enthusiastic team player 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or business or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • 2 – 5 years relevant experience 

  • Excellent copy-editing skills and a meticulous attention to detail 

  • Time and project management skills 

  • Experience in visual design, photo editing and photography desirable 

  • Familiarity or experience with CANVA and Wix platforms 

  • Proficient in MSOffice and other CRM programs 

  • Experience with all social media platforms 

  • Can-do attitude 

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Ability to liaise with all levels in an organization 

  • Nonprofit experience a plus  

  • PA Criminal Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance and FBI Clearance are all required
