Voice and Ukulele Instructor
A native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Susan Whitenack attended Smith College where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree, and the Eastman School of Music, where she received her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Literature, with Honors.
Residents of the Greater Delaware Valley region have enjoyed Miss Whitenack’s appearances with the Silver Dollar Singers and Camerata Opera Theater. In New York City, Susan has appeared and recorded with the Robert DeCormier Singers and the Dusing Singers. Also in New York, Susan sang for guest of honor Luciano Pavarotti at a fund-raising event, and he enthusiastically commented about her singing, “Bellissima!” Susan has sung all over the United States and abroad with many opera companies and orchestras. She has been featured soloist with the orchestras of Santo Domingo, Trenton (NJ), Reading (PA), and many others. Susan also served as choir section leader, soprano soloist and guitarist/song leader at Salem United Church of Christ in Doylestown, PA for many years. She is a member and soloist with the ensemble “Harp & 3 Divas” and the trio “How Fair a Sound” and has performed with these groups all over the Bucks County region. Susan is a very busy teacher of voice, piano, Ukulele, guitar and acting. Since 1993 she has maintained a private teaching studio at her home in Doylestown. From 1998 to 2008 Susan taught Broadway performance classes, acting improvisation classes, and private lessons for voice, piano, guitar and recorder during the summers at the Summer Arts Camp of Chestnut Hill College (1998-2005) and Plymouth Meeting Friends School (2006-2008). Susan is celebrating 15 years of teaching at The Conservatory and enjoys working with students of all ages and skill levels.
Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, and Mandolin Instructor
Paul has been playing guitar for 30 years and has a Bachelors Degree in jazz guitar from the University Of The Arts in Philadelphia. Although his degree is in jazz, he is also well versed in many styles from rock to blues to metal and country. Paul has been teaching for over 20 years and has been playing concerts for just as long. Paul has played many performance venues in all styles of music including the Trocadero in Philadelphia and the China Club in New York and has played shows or worked with well-known artists such as Twisted Sister, Judas Priest, Yngwie Malmsteen and Michelle Branch. Paul accepts students of all ages and skill levels for Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Banjo, Bass, Ukulele, and Mandolin.
